Fascinated by the world beyond Manchester, UK, where I was born and raised, my life took an intriguing turn when I first set foot in Kitzbühel on a memorable childhood holiday. I knew back then it was the place I wanted to call home when I grew up. By the age of 17, I spend my winters in Kitzbühel as a ski instructor, sharing my love for the slopes with others, and my summers in Greece, working in the hospitality industry.
In 2005, I finally made the decision to move to Kitzbühel for good, and since then, I have been enjoying the thrill of sports and the beauty of the mountains that surround me.
It was in 2013 that I accomplished my first full-distance Ironman, marking the beginning of my passion for triathlons. Over the years, I continued to challenge myself in various triathlon events, achieving my best time of 9 hours and 42 minutes and securing a commendable third position overall in a sprint distance race.
However, as time went on, I discovered a new passion that truly captured my heart—trail running. Spending time in the mountains became an integral part of my life, and trail running provided me with immense satisfaction, not only in terms of personal accomplishment but also in competitive pursuits. I experienced my greatest triumph when I emerged victorious in the Kaiserkrone Elite Run, a grueling 58-kilometer race around the majestic Wilder Kaiser mountain range, with a staggering 3,500 meters of ascent.
Despite all these incredible achievements, my most profound source of pride is becoming a father. Since June 2022, I have been blessed with the joy of being a dad to my son, Sam. Together, we embark on training sessions and explore my favourite places on the mountainside, where I can pass on my love for the outdoors and witness the wonder in his eyes. Rediscovering familiar places through the eyes of children is a magical experience that fills me with happiness.
Kitzbühel, with its picturesque landscapes, has become more than just a childhood dream; it is now the place where I have built a life filled with adventure, athletic pursuits, and the joy of parenthood. I feel incredibly fortunate to call this breathtaking town my home, as it continues to inspire and energize me every single day.
